Learn to Make Games:
The GANGLIA Workshop
A Neurology Game-Making Gang
Are you a neurologist, neuroscientist, resident, fellow, or educator who would like to create a professional quality neurology-themed educational tabletop game?

Join the Global Alliance of Neurology Game-based Learning Innovators and Academics (GANGLIA) Workshop Series, a year-long program that provides mentorship, education, and collaboration for innovators in game-based learning.

This workshop-centered program brings together a small cohort of Neurology Neurds to develop original, playable educational games through a mix of teaching, collaboration, and individualized mentorship.

Program Overview
GANGLIA’s mission is to create a community of educators who use tabletop games to teach neurology. Participants will learn, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life under the mentorship of experienced game designers and educators, including hosts Zach London and Ali Christy.

Participants will meet monthly for 90 minutes in an interactive online format that includes:
-
15 minutes of focused teaching on topics in curriculum development, game design, playtesting, and production.
-
Collaborative workshops for sharing, playtesting, and feedback
-
Mentorship to help guide each participant’s project from concept to prototype to publication, either through Neurdgames (www.neurdgames.com) or in an open access medical education tools repository such as Neurology: Education or MedEdPORTAL.
-
A stipend (up to $1000, prorated by meeting attendance) to cover game art, publication or marketing costs, or travel expenses to attend an in-person MedEd Games conference.
